WHAT MAKES A GOOD
EQUIPMENT QUOTE?
A clear quote keeps a financing review moving. Here's what to include — and why each line helps your customer's request.
As an equipment seller, the quote you hand your customer is often the document a financing review works from. A good quote answers questions before they're asked: what's being bought, from whom, for how much, and what directly related costs are part of the transaction.
No lender or program requires every item below in every transaction — requirements vary. But the more of this picture your quote paints, the smoother the path from "customer wants the equipment" to "financing explored and transaction ready."
SELLER / COMPANY NAME
Your legal or trading company name, exactly as the customer knows it — so the transaction can be matched to your business.
CUSTOMER / BUSINESS NAME
The business buying the equipment, so the application lines up with the right customer.
EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
What the equipment is, in plain language — specs, configuration or package details that tell the story of the purchase.
BRAND & MODEL
Manufacturer and model for each item. Multi-brand projects list the brand per line item, not once for the whole quote.
QUANTITY
How many of each item — three lifts is a different transaction than one.
NEW OR USED
Whether each item is new or used. Used equipment benefits from the year, condition and seller details.
PRICE
The purchase price per item, or the package price where the quote is structured that way.
TAXES, FREIGHT & INSTALLATION
Directly related costs, listed separately where possible — depending on the transaction, they may be considered as part of the request.
OTHER DIRECTLY RELATED COSTS
Rigging, calibration, training, commissioning or software attached to the equipment — itemized where they apply.
DEPOSIT / TRADE-IN
Where one applies to the transaction, it gives the review an accurate picture of the amount being requested.
DELIVERY TIMING
Expected delivery or installation timing helps the financing review line up with the transaction.
CONTACT INFORMATION
Who to reach at your company if the review needs an equipment detail clarified.
QUOTING A COMPLETE SHOP OR MULTIPLE BRANDS?
One request can carry the whole project — equipment from several manufacturers, installation, freight and eligible facility equipment, each with its own line. Upload every quote you've collected with the request and the full transaction is reviewed as one.
